***This is actually information I'm looking for for a fictional story. ***
I'm just wondering if there are cancers that a teenage boy would be more likely to contract. BUT, the character in question (the one who is going to have cancer) doesn't smoke or drink alcohol, and is a virgin, so, under those circumstances, what cancers would be more likely to show up in an otherwise healthy teenage boy? What cancers would a teenage boy be more likely to contract?
Osteosarcoma (bone cancer). The link lists several others that teens can get. What cancers would a teenage boy be more likely to contract?
Smoking or drinking is not a risk factor for cancer in teenagers and sex doesn鈥檛 cause cancer in anyone. So whether or not he does these things have nothing to do with his getting cancer or the kind of cancer he may get. The most common cancers in kids are leukemia (usually ALL), lymphoma, CNS tumors, sarcomas, neuroblastoma and bone cancer 鈥?in this order.
I would guess that your virgin boy goes out in the sun, so melanoma. The next probable thing might be testticular cancer.
