UK: Look up 'Teddy Boys' in the late 50's early 60's, then along came the Beatles who were the leaders in fashion. All teenage boys had to have 'winklepicker shoes' - long, usually black leather shoes with long pointed toe cap. Straight jacket with high collar - sometimes called 'bum freezers' and drain pipe trousers. Slim ties came into fashion................ Greasy hair in what was called a 'Tony Curtis' followed by the Beatle style and the start of long hair.
p.s. the Hippy era did not come until later.............What was the popular clothing for teenage boys in the 1960's?
bell-bottomed pants and high-heeled boots which were popular at that time
that was the hippy era. bell-bottoms and tie-died shirts. and peace signs and army boots
