What is the difference between adult and teenage books?

What do publishers/editors look for when deciding to label a novel young adult, teenage, adult, ect.?What is the difference between adult and teenage books?
It's mostly about content. If it has a lot of cursing and drugs, then it most likely wouldn't be found in the ';kids'; section or YA. Adult and teenage books tend to sometimes blur the line. And actually, many books can be marketed in many genres. Take His Dark Materials. At BN, you can find the series in Sci/Fi as well as Children's. In that case, it's a matter of different marketing of the covers. As far as sexua content goes, if it is very extravagant, they usually will market it in the adult section. But, with the resergence of Gossip Girl, it is getting a bit more in the teen section as well. What is the difference between adult and teenage books?
Well, I've found that teenage books are enjoyable and easy to read but I like adult books more because the writing is often more mature and there are lines that really just make you question things more instead of just tellnig a story. But that is just my opinion.

What does it take to become a teenage model and how to get discoverd.?

i am wondering what you need to have to become a 13 year old model. like looks , height, size etc. and what else you need. also how do you get discovered. Also do you need to pay to become a model and how much can you get paid with no experience? where can you get discovered in toronto and how ?

also any advice is appreciated thanks! What does it take to become a teenage model and how to get discoverd.?
You don't ever pay to become a model. That's how you know an agency is a scam. An agency should sign you for free, then make money AFTER they book you on a job

The top agencies in Toronto are Ford, Elite, Next, Giovanni, Elmer Olsen

Most require you to be 5'7';+ by age 13.

Ford requires 5'9'; minimum, Elite requires 5'7'; at age 14 (they won't represent 13 year olds), and Giovanni, Next and Elmer Olsen require height of at least 5'8';

You also need to have measurements around 34-24-34 plus or minus 1';

In the modeling industry, by age 13 you are no longer considered a child model and need to meet the physical requirements of their Womens divisionWhat does it take to become a teenage model and how to get discoverd.?
Depends what type of modelling. You can generally be a commercial model at any age, height and weight, but runway models have I think a 5,7 minimum, and you'll rarely find runway models in their early teens.

You need to have something about you that stands out from the rest. Agencies don't take on every average Jane, and just being pretty won't get you far either. You need to look different and unusual.

Proper agencies will never ask for money upfront. You'll have to pay for portfolios and the like, but never give an agency money until they've at least met you face to face.

If you're that keen to model find a fall-back first. Concentrate on your studies so if you can't break through into the modelling industry, at least you'll have good grades to get you somewhere.

What could cause blackouts for a teenage boy?

A 16 year old boy has blackouts, that to him seem to last seconds but he can be like this for up to half an hour. Of course he doesnt remember it... He just blinks and he's in a different place. What could this possibly be?What could cause blackouts for a teenage boy?
The questions you need to find out are:

When do these blackouts happen?

Are they:

a. first thing in the morning when he gets out of bed

b. when he's been sitting or laying for awhile and he stands up

c. In the morning when he's taking a hot shower

d. after he's been active and sweating quite a bit

e. right after he's eaten a big meal

f. all/some of above

g. none of the above

Does he every lose control of his bowels or bladder?

How many glasses of water, sports drinks, milk does he drink every day? Carbonated drinks and juice don't count.

When did these ';blackouts'; start? Does he have any other symptoms... i.e feeling his heart racing? feeling dizzy? does it start with his vision going black and then he passes out? Since you didn't mention it, I'm assuming he's never had a shaking or jerking movements when he's passed out?

What could cause blackouts for a teenage boy?
It is hard to say what it could be. There is any number of things that it could be. Some things that it could be: not enough sugar, or too much sugar as in diabetics, a congenital problem, too high or too low of blood pressure, too high or too low of heart rate, if he had been hurt, used drugs or something like that.
Low blood sugar-he could possibly be a diabetic.

I know a guy who used to black out all the time and not remember a thing, sometimes for an hour or so, because he didn't have his diabetes under control.

You might also have him checked for Epilepsy. Myself, I usually have the other type of episode, but have had stuff like he's having happen a few times.
This sounds very strange, but it could be either narcolepsy (where one suddenly becomes unconscious, then wakes up like your describing) or maybe an epileptic??

What is about teenage girls that men like so much. A lot of the time we can't even walk down the street without getting whistled at or honked at or yelled at. I'd just like to know I don't mean to be rude. What is it about guys and teenage girls?

Honestly I feel sick, im 20 but I look much younger and whever I am at the supermarket or anything I always get guys giving me looks old guys at that. I hate being treated like a piece of meat.

and no I dont look at men who are attractive in this way.

and no I do am not and nor is the person asking this question..';wanting more attention';What is it about guys and teenage girls?
They figure they can conquer anything younger or small than themselves.. It's a male macho crap situation, and then if they can't get their ';way';, out comes the foul language and the rumors start about the girl (s) in question.

It shows a completer lack of respect, and they feel that they were put on earth for only one reason, and one reason alone..

T'is for the above reason that I, as a long time married transvestite / crossdresser with a very supportive, understanding, knowledgeable, and helpful who has taught me all the traits of emulating women to the nines, from presentation, walking, sitting, standing, mannerisms. make up, hair, nails, etc have ';thrown'; aside my male ';birth'; and have adopted the feminine lifestyle instead.

I think you know the answer and so now you are gonna come across as just wanting more of that attention.

  • What is the movie where the teenage girl fakes her pregnancy?

I think it's been played on lifetime and i honestly don't remember much of anything.

all i remember is that she was in high-school. and MAYBE it was for a project...?

in the end she gets caught and everyone is mad at her.

    any help?

    it wasn't labor pains.

i saw this particular movie a few years back. What is the movie where the teenage girl fakes her pregnancy?
lol i was going to say labor pains. but i remeebr one where this girl was special ed and she was faking her prenancy. ? sorry.

go to www.imdb.com (internet movie database) and look up pregnancy and teen or something like that. you can search for movies by their ';keywords';What is the movie where the teenage girl fakes her pregnancy?
I don't know if it's the one your thinking but that happened in New Waterford Girl. She lived in a small crappy town and wanted to get out and go to some fancy art school (in NY I think) So she starts fooling around with all these boys and gets a reputation as a ho (but never actually sleeps with any of them). Then she pretends to be pregnant so her dad will send her away and then she figures she'll be easily able to go to NY instead. It's funny becasue at one point she's chased by this group of guys whom have been talking to try and figure out who the father is (in the beginning they're more than happy to brag about 'bagging' her) when they realize none of them have actually slept with her.
    very interesting

How much should I pay a teenage babysitter?

17-year-old will be keeping my 8-year-old girl and 11-year-old boy in my home this summer. She transports my son (2 week) from a 1/2 day camp, 1 week will only have my son, 1 week will only have my daughter. She will cook their lunch using my food, some laundry, minor housecleaning, and have kids complete their chores. I live in northern Mississippi (not a big city) and she is a cousin.

Thank you!How much should I pay a teenage babysitter?
At least $10 per hour...She can't be paid less than min wage by law, but you should pay extra for each extra kid and the chores. Even if the kids are older than babies...They can still be a handful, and if you want her to not quit on you, you should make sure she is compensated appropriately...Most people pay an average of $10 per hour up to $15 per hour depending on how much she has to do. She is not just babysitting, but also doing chores and anything less than that isn't worth it. If I was that age and offered less than that, I would rather go and hang out with my friends, or find another summer job thats less work and more pay. So pay her a decent wage since she will be doing a lot for you.How much should I pay a teenage babysitter?
    $10 an hour
    minimum USD 5/hour
It ALL depends on where you live. I live in Seattle and if anyone handed me less than $8-10/hour (keep in mind, im 15 and cant even drive yet) I would laugh and tell them to come back with more. The professionals in my area get $12-15. But hey, $3/hour might be normal where you live. I can't imagine anywhere where that would be acceptable but what do I know?
    10 bucks an hour
You'll have to ask someone from your area. I live in the Bay Area and pay a 17-yr old $7/hr to take care of my 1-yr old. While 1-yr olds are more demanding, there's only 1 child and she doesn't have to do drop off/pick up. I also use a sitter who charges $12/hr for 1 child or $16/hr for two children. But my sister is a ';nanny'; in a more remote part of michigan and she gets $14/hr for THREE kids that are 6 yr old twins and a 3 yr old.
    are u people serious.

I would say with the extra things like transporting the kids, and laundry I would give her 10-12 dollars.

She is 17 and could find a job else where, but at that age for babysitting weither she is family or not I would say NO LESS than $10.

I have been babysitting for a long while and that is what I get cause Im older and can drive.

Its all about respect, and I would feel cheated out if I got any less.

Plus think about how much a profeesional/babysitting company would charge 15-25 dollars an hour.

One thing you dont need to do that I often feel weird about is when the parents gets tons of soda/snacks/treats for me as a thank you, but really I think they get their fast food/unhealthy fix all the time at home and while out and about...especially over the summer. If any thing, get healthy snacks so the kids can share and wont get all crazy.
At LEAST minimum wage - she is doing a lot more than babysitting for you !
I would say about $60-75 a week. Even the weeks she is only keeping 1 kid. Will she be using her car to transport the kids to their camp? If she is keeping the kids and doing housework I think the above mentioned would be fair.

PS. I am from a small town in South MS and this is what I was paid 10+ years ago when I babysat. Good luck
if shes fam. about 3 an hour. if shes not family...5 an hour, cuz she is having to use her gas to transport the kids.
no more than $5 an hour. Thats how much I got paid as a teenager babysitting 3 kids at one time
I would say $7 an hour. I know how much work it can be, and the money will make her feel really good about doing the job well. She should be paid something since she could just go out and get a job on her own. It is still a lot less than a nanny.
i get paied $5.00 but being shes a cousin she should do it out of the goodness of her heart
I would definately pay her above minimum wage as you are trusting her with transporting your children. I would offer her some money for gas as well. It doesn't matter if she is a family member...treat her like a professional as that is how you expect her to act.

Have you asked her what she expects?
well i babysit and I charge $3 a kid per hour. I think it's a decent price to charge =]
How many hours each day?....If your paying her hourly $5.00 an hour is good. If it's per week which will probably be cheaper, about $150.00. You have to keep in mind that she's doing more then just caring for the kids.
Because all of this work is required and she is 17 (she could be getting a real job and be pulling in at least 7 bucks an hour), I'd say 10 dollars an hour. Warn her ahead of time that if there are days you come home and the house is a mess, etc., then her pay will be docked for that day. And if you think she's done a good job, you can tip her periodically.
Well, she's doing a lot of stuff for you! She's driving, cleaning, making lunch, plus making sure they're safe. I'd say about 50 or 60 dollars a week...that sounds like a lot, but that's only about 8 dollars a week. I'd say more, but that would really get to be a lot of money! Good Luck!
    $5.00 an hour..THAT IS GREATT!
dang she aint just a baby sitter she is a house keeper....doing laudry???? lol but like at least 35 dollars an hour it maybe depends on how many hours she work
    minimum wage.
    $5.oo an hour?
$10 per hour. It all depends on how well she interacts with your kids and if she does her work thoroughly.
    atleast 8-10 dollars an hour
    7.50 an hr
pay her good; thats alot of work for a 17yr old when she/he could be out partying
atleast minimum wage plus gas...you get what you pay for... family or not
I get 7-10 an hour. Depends on how annoying your children are.
    About 6-8 dollars/hour seems reasonable.
    about 30 bucks a day....
at the most 10 an hour....but she is taking care of 2 kids AND doing house work.....and driving....maye 12 an hour...

  • What to do if your a teenage girl visiting British Columbia?

This summer i am going to BC, Victoria with my fam but i have so siblings so that makes it even more boring. I am a 13 year old girl looking for things to do while im there. Also where are the good malls? What to do if your a teenage girl visiting British Columbia?
The good malls are Hillside, The Bay Centre, and Mayfair. Just never, ever, go when the Fifa world cup is on. The random bursts of cheering are very unnerving...

    - Go to the wax museum

    - Go to Under Sea Gardens

    - Check and see whats happening at Bastien Square

    - Check out the shopping

    - See whats happening at the Save On Foods Memorial Arena

    - Go to the IMAX

    - Go to Butterfly Gardens

    - Walk around the inner harbor, and look at all the stalls and performers (it really is cool)

    - Go to Butchart Gardens

    - Go to Willows beach

    - Visit the Center of the Universe

    - Definitely visit the Empress

    - Ride the double Decker bus!

    - See the bunnies at UVIC. Bring carrots for them, and they all come running. Its even funnier when you throw them, and all the bunnies go running across the track

    - Remember that no matter which way you go, you will always end up at a beach. Or you will just fall off a cliff into the water.

-Go to Clover point and go down the breakwater

    - Go to Beacon Hill Park and taunt - I mean, ';pet'; the goats, unless they shut it down, as they where considering to last year

Theres way more then I mentioned, and I can guarantee you will NEVER be bored, with the endless things (and shopping) to do!What to do if your a teenage girl visiting British Columbia?
There is a mall in douglas or pandora I don't remember, well the main street, it has three floors and they sell good clothes, the usual canadian clothes stores, it is good !

You can also go walk along the ocean !

In Victoria for your age, you may go shopping there, or you may go visit the park and the parlament, to be honest I found Victoria boring there is not much stuff to do, but then again you can go to the royal bc museum, or probably take a boat ride
well, there's a lot of things for a tourist to do in victoria(even a teen tourist)...

u HAVE to visit the wax museum, it's right on the harbour downtown.

to be honest with u, i found the Royal BC Museum really, really boring!(don't go there, waste of money)

the castle isn't really a castle, its more like a dusty old mansion...

the Buchart Gardens are actually pretty cool, visit on saturdays for their awesome fireworks.

well, the malls here in victoria kinda suck...i mean if u want to go shopping go to vancouver... its's not really the city's fault, it's just that victoria is a smallish city and any really big mall would go out of business here...

BUT, there are still a few good malls, visit the Bay Centre in down town has like five floors...

Mayfair mall is pretty cool too, it has a ben and jerry's ice cream shop in it(mmm)...

Sweetheart necklines are very flattering for small breasts. As are very wide v necks and thin straps. What are good styles of dresses that work well with very flat chested teenage girls?
My wife generally wore a little ';loose'; clothing as a teen. No ';padding'; fortunately - because I initially noticed her because of her very small breasts. And I thought; ';Wow, she is really special...'; - and she was ;o)
umm my friend is very flat chested as well and she tried on a tight boobtube and it looked beautiful.

What underwear do mothers buy their teenage sons?

For those that don't shop for themselves, do their mothers still buy them briefs or boxer shorts? What underwear do mothers buy their teenage sons?
Ask your son! It's the only way you will find out because non of us know what your son prefers in underwear?

However most of my friends wear Calvin Clein boxer shorts and they are teenagers. What underwear do mothers buy their teenage sons?
It depends on what the guy prefers, though generally teenage guys prefer to wear boxers because they're more 'roomy'.

However, I think most most teens are capable of buying their own underwear.

    x
My mum used to buy my brother Calvin Klein , in the boxers, you can get them resonable, and since most boys like yeano expensive things,

    there perfect lol.

    xx
That would depend on whether the son in question prefers briefs or boxers, wouldn't it. Jeez, use some common sense before you ask questions like this.
They probably buy them long johns out of Marks and Sparks but they should be buying them calvin Kleins out of USC or Harvey Nicks
Think most teenage boys get their own .. briefs, boxers, Y fronts or whatever ,, might only be Tesco. Asda or Primark . but choice of style still there .. Mum probably pays though
    You asked this yesterday....
uh probably whatever their son prefers
well my husband doesn't shop for himself, so i get him boxers.
it's strange to still buy your teenage son underwear, but maybe you should ask him what he prefers
    i think briefs
    What ever he perfers,
    Man thongs...

    =]

It depends on what your son likes.

What kind of underwear should a teenage boy wear under swimtrunks if it's hard to conceal boners?

Should he wear dri-fit material, polyester, etc.?

And if you don't want to wear a speedo or uncomfortable underwear, what other options are out there? What kind of underwear should a teenage boy wear under swimtrunks if it's hard to conceal boners?
Wear a jockstrap or a swim jock. They are made of material that dries out quickly, unlike underwear, and you don't have an extra layer of fabric under your trunks. Jocks typically were worn with swim trunks, before they started to put in those annoying mesh liner things, which don't give enough support, or hide erections. What kind of underwear should a teenage boy wear under swimtrunks if it's hard to conceal boners?
Man the girls you swim with must be really hot (or guys if your into that) if you can't control your penis. My advice is just don't get boners. If you feel one coming just sing the national anthem.
haha... srry lol... just remembering all the embarrassed guys w/boners during track... lmao

wear something underneath... even if your shorts are baggy it'll show through

wear a speedo. it might keep it down. LMFAO
Boxerbriefs...they hold things closer to the body without being uncomfortable...a cotton blend with like 5% spandex is probably your best bet.
Try a speedo. Seriously. That works.

that is pretty cute! But i guess anything tight that would keep it like against your body so it would just look normal or wear a pair of baggy boardshorts! :)
y? do u get boners often when swimming? try boxers...
I don't think thats aloud at public pools. Don't hide your boners because you might break something wearing tight *** speedos. ss
hahahaha... so thats why they all wear underwear under their trunks. most of the guys in my class wear reg boxers and if they have boners u can normally hardly notice
    boxer briefs probrably
A thong and two pairs of briefs.

What do guys really feel about teenage girls wearing makeup?

I've recently started wearing a little bit of makeup, natural colors to even out my skin tone and enhance my eyes. It still looks very natural, but I just want to know what a guy's opinion really is about makeup, should I wear it daily once school starts, or just go natural? Either way my complexion is good and i really don't care. What do guys really feel about teenage girls wearing makeup?
if your complexion is fine then you probably shouldn't wear makeup. the guys i talk to claim that they don't really care about makeup as long as it's not too outstanding (like this girl i knew with bright blue eyes who wear BRIGHT blue eye shadow..it was a disaster!)What do guys really feel about teenage girls wearing makeup?
All the guys I know don't care about the makeup the girl's wearing. As long as it looks good. They obviously don't like a girl that cakes on foundation. So yea, they like natural makeup, but obviously they like it pretty.
i hear a lot of guys saying they only like a little makeup, if any...but then they always go for the girls with glossy lips, perfectly lined eyes, and lots of mascara...so idk. im confused.
Overwhelmingly, I've heard from guys that they like little to no make-up. So either way, you should be fine. Just whatever you feel like on any given day.
Most dont like it, so save yourself time and money by going natural. It looks bettter anyway :)
I don't really care as long she doesn't look like barbie haha.
Guys REALLY do not care just don't wear a **** load.
lets put it this way guys dont give a sh** as long as u look good all there after is sex anyways
    i don't really care.

What are some songs that you would play at a funeral for a teenage boy?

How can I do with a teenage girl who is awful bad behavior to change to a better behavior?

The fourteen years old girl who is not listening, angry, stubborn, and not doing anything with strict rules also not doing any chores when I asked. Every time she get blow up angry and swearing. She always get into trouble. How can I change her to a better behavior? any ideas? How can I do with a teenage girl who is awful bad behavior to change to a better behavior?
Slap her. Then have an emotional hug with her, saying you did this because you love her.

But seriously beat some teenage age a*s. My mom still beats me LOOOL. even at 15 :(How can I do with a teenage girl who is awful bad behavior to change to a better behavior?
When my daughter was that age, it was a nightmare, stubborn, angry, she knows it all, and so on....

Really in force what you say, the big thing the counselor told me that I did wrong was FOLLOWING THROUGH WITH WHAT YOU SAY don't say you are grounded and then give up. You have to follow through whatever you say. Tell her she needs to get into something at school, sport or club the busier she is the less trouble she will get into.

At the end, my daughter is now 26 2 wonderful children and she is a nurse. Good girl,

Stay by what you say, give them chores, and make her do them and if not, take away phone, computer, what ever it takes and stand by it.....
its a shame kids act such a way, and no offense to you but it is usually partly the parents fault for not enforcing respect.

middle class kids with monotonous (?) lives start to complain about such minute things like ';omg like my mom is such a *****...she makes me do CHORES like wtf....she won't let me out on a friday like wtf!'; lol.

really you need to expose them first hand the rest of the world. darfour, somalia, baghdad etc. I think the best way is to volunteer or get involved with people in a local city and show the poor parts of it. I had friends who lived downtown in a city, and they came from other countries, and when the kids in my school really found out about how he lived, that really put them into perspective.
give her more time and importance. she will definitely listen you. if we can make a pet so close to us and listening us and doing as we want. why we cant make a person listen to us just we should love them more. some are really more demanding than others.

    thank you

What was popular clothing items for teenage boys ranging 13-19 in the era of 1960's? Pictures and weblinks are welcome. What was the popular clothing for teenage boys in the 1960's?
UK: Look up 'Teddy Boys' in the late 50's early 60's, then along came the Beatles who were the leaders in fashion. All teenage boys had to have 'winklepicker shoes' - long, usually black leather shoes with long pointed toe cap. Straight jacket with high collar - sometimes called 'bum freezers' and drain pipe trousers. Slim ties came into fashion................ Greasy hair in what was called a 'Tony Curtis' followed by the Beatle style and the start of long hair.

p.s. the Hippy era did not come until later.............What was the popular clothing for teenage boys in the 1960's?

wear a bald cap, smear your lipstick and eyeliner, grab the electric hair clippers and go as the deranged britney spears.

What are some ideas for a teenage girl's halloween costume?
well im 15 and all the girls i talk to at school (a range of about 13-17 years old) are dressing up as referees, school girls, etc. theres not a whole lot of celebs with brown hair who will be easily identified. the only celeb that you can actually be recognized as would be like, paris hilton but shes blond...

i say just go with something like a schoolgirl, referee, etc... they make those costumes sexy but not too slutty. good luck.

A Certain Slant of Light-by Laura Whitcomb This is truly the most amazing ghost love story I have ever read!

Helen died 130 years ago as a young woman. Unable to enter heaven because of a sense of guilt she carried at death, she has been silent and invisible but conscious and sociable across the generations. Her spirit has been sustained by its attachment to one living human host after another, including a poet and, most recently, a high-school English teacher. While she sits through his class one day, she becomes aware of James and he鈥搖nlike the mortals all around them鈥搃s aware of her as well. James, who also died years earlier, inhabits the body of a 17 yr old Billy. James and Helen fall in love, he shows her how to inhabit the body of a person whose spirit has died but who still lives and breathes, and the two begin to unfold the mysteries of their own pasts and those of their adolescent hosts.15 yr old Jenny, whose body Helen now uses, is the only child of strict religious parents who controlled her beyond what her spirit could endure. Billy's spirit left his body after a string of tragedies resulting from drug abuse and domestic violence. James and Helen court in both modern and old-fashioned ways; here is a novel in which explicit sex is far from gratuitous or formulaic

    Shed seven tears,

    perchance seven years....

Gwen Cooke was 10 years old when chronic sleepwalking led her onto a midnight beach and into a world of Celtic magic, mystery and danger.

Was her encounter with a boy with dark, slightly tilted eyes a dream? Were the words he whispered before vanishing, a spell?

In the wake of gossip over what really happened to Gwen, her family moved away from their seaside home and Gwen never saw the boy again.

Now seventeen, Gwen is returning to her childhood home. She says it's because her grandmother asked for her help at the Sea Horse Inn. But Gwen knows it's time to go back for another reason: She yearns for the sea. Perhaps the sea itself is calling to her. Perhaps the memory of the boy and his haunting words are drawing her back to the place they met. Perhaps it's time for her to face her destiny.

Do you think all or most teenage pregnancies should end in marriage?

Or should the baby be aborted, put up for adoption, or even kept but the parents not get married? Whats your opinion and please share any experiences?

Thanks for answering!Do you think all or most teenage pregnancies should end in marriage?
Hell No!!! People should not be forced to marry at any age if they are pregnant or not. The choice is up to the parents of the baby, predicated of course on the support they would get from their extended families. I'd say if the parents of the child can struggle but raise the child, then do so. If they feel that they cannot take care of it but don't want to abort, then put it up for adoption. If they want to rid themselves of the responsibility, then they should abort. Why force them to take care of something when this child could potentially end up being abused? Do you think all or most teenage pregnancies should end in marriage?
i really don't think that people should marry just because of pregnancy. the child would be brought up in a loveless marriage if in fact you weren't together or it was just a 1 night stand. If you are together and got pregnant then there is nothing to say that you should get married. i have a baby with my partner and we are not married, we love each other very much and are happy and that is enough for our little one. marriage doesn't make a happy stable home, you as a couple do that any way. As for teenage pregnancies,i think there would be less if they were properly educated about it. a lot of girls(in the uk) were getting pregnant on purpose so they could get a council flat and benefits which in myopinionn, don't deserve to have children as they are doing it all for the wrong reasons and can't look after themselves let alone a child. i think its all about theindividuall mostly though.
my friend was pregnant and she always said that she loved this guy with all her heart. but it turns out that after she had a miscarriage he told her off and said that he never liked her in the first place. so i'm guessing they never would have gotten married because the dude was a complete ******.

the baby should NEVER be aborted, because there are ALWAYS people out there who are unable to have children and would love to have one of their own. even in the case of rape (just because the rapist was a monster, doesn't mean the baby is...)

i don't believe that teenagers are required to marry the person with whom they have had a child... but then again.. i also believe that people in general should get married before having kids.

you see. once jamie lynn spears gets married to her boyfriends, that marriage will be up in flames in no time, i guarantee you.

many teenagers are just too young. they have their whole lives ahead of them and if they get married and have kids now, it will only be harder to pick themselves back up and make a success of their futures.
I think teenagers should not fall pregnant, they are not ready to face the responsibilities of a baby and marriage, and in the end they end up alone with kids to support, and abortion is murder - nor even worth considering, adoption is something you life to regret later in your life, for you always wonder where and what happened to that child
it depends on alot of different things, some teenagers are more mature than others, some teenagers will get help from parents or families and some will not, i do not believe in abortion, there are alot of people that can't have babies, I definitely do not think that teenagers should be made to get married but should be made to finish school and continue with education even if they have a baby-young people are doing it everyday.
Don't get married if you don't love each other. People get married because of kids and everyone is sad. If you get pregnant you should take responsibility for your actions. That means if you're old enough to have sex then find a home for your child. My friend is a teen mother. She did not take the easy way out and kill a baby. She got a job and is raising her son herself. She did the right thing.
I don't think abortion is the right answer, but adoption may be if she really does not want the baby. I don't think teens should get married for the baby's sake. I was 17 when I had my daughter (now 16) her dad and i got married and had a bad marriage. We were divorced right after college. Had to do over I would have stayed single.
my friend got pregnant when she was 16 and she and the baby and her boyfriend are still living happily...i don't think they should have to get married. however i probably wouldn't have a baby until i'm at least engaged (i would get engaged if it was an accident).

oh and i don't believe anybody should have an abortion unless there is a medical problem with the baby or mother. but that's just me
    No, definitely not.

Marrying for the wrong reasons (Because you ';have'; to) leads to unhappiness.

    Aborted? Leads to unhappiness.

Adoption: Not so bad for the baby but hard on the birth mother

Kept, parents not married the BEST option.
Don't get married unless it is their choice, marriage isn't suitable for all people. And if they choose to abort or adopt that'ss fine.

Who am I to say what everyone should do in a situation?
i think it all depends on the situation, i'm 22 now and had my first child at 14 and didn't get married and happy i didn't, but really every situation is different
Adoption or marriage. Marriage only if the pregnant one is 17 or older. Adoption if the mother is any younger.
Teen pregnancies should end in abortion or adoption. If they are stupid enough to get pregnant in the first place, they shouldn't keep the baby.
No it shouldn't matter the age NEVER EVER get married because of a pregnancy. It makes it terrible for the child and the parents as well.
It depends on what they want.
    only if it isnt rape...
I think they should be forced to be married.

And if they want to abort the baby, they would have to pay a fine and spend some time in jail and enroll in the military.

What is the movie where a teenage boy sits outside a girl's window all summer?

I know very little about it other than there is a boy who almost camps outside a girl's window whom he has a crush on all summer long. She has a boyfriend who comes over sometimes and in the end they actually end up getting together. What is the movie where a teenage boy sits outside a girl's window all summer?

How safe is motocross for a teenage girl?

I want to try motocross but my parents think it is to dangerous. If you wear the appropriate gear and take lessons will it make it any safer? How safe is motocross for a teenage girl?
Of course wearing the appropriate gear makes anything safer.

At first, my parents didn't want me to start Bmx. They thought it was extremly dangerous. They espcialy didn't want me going to these HUGE dirt bike jumps. I bugged them enough until they finaly bought me a freestyle bmx bike!

I started off by wearing a skate helment, elbow pads and knee pads for about 2 months. I showed them what I could do and they seen that I was responsible enough to bmx and go to the bike jumps again. Now I don't even wear a helmet or anything anymore. I probably should, but..meh. Too hot outside! =D!

I thought myself how to bmx and how to go off jumps with the help of my friends. Sure, of course I got some scrapes and bruises here and there, and fell off the edge of the jumps a couple times, but I never broke anything or seriously hurt myself in my whole life.

I'm also a girl in my early teens. I'm only 13 years old! =D. I'm on my 3rd month of Bmxing.

Prove to your parents that you're responsible enough to motorcross. Promise them that you'll be careful and responsible.

By the way, it's really cool how you wanna start something like this. You seem like a fun person to hang out with.

You go girl! How safe is motocross for a teenage girl?
I have been around it for around 4 years and i ride trails and tracks but my parents still consider it to be dangerous. A boy died this year close to where i live b/c of a freak accident. He was thrown into the rythem section and ran over by a bigger bike. MX is my life and im close to racing soon..

Have you ever looked at this site?

It has some beautiful free patterns that range in level and in style. You might possibly find something that all your friends would like here.

For the girly I would recommend either the bags or one of the tops and for the sporty, the knitted shoes or hats with scarves might be enjoyable. Just take a browse...

    Hope it helps

If you are a more advanced knitter, how about a bikini? I know, it seems so easy, but, after 34 different patterns, I have yet to create a usable knitted bikini pattern. This could be both girly %26amp; sporty.
scarves are always good. One of my friends always made scarves for us for our birthday.

How do i become a successful teenage actress???

I live in Louisiana and i think my options are very limited for me to become a famous actress. I don't know where to start. Does anybody have any suggestions or know how i can get started the right way safetly? How do i become a successful teenage actress???
    Shame on some of you for only answering to put someone down. If you don't have something nice to say... It's not like all she said was ';I WANT TO BE FAMOUS';

That being said, it really shouldn't be your focus. BUT you did ask how to begin the right way and how to do so safely. Your options may be limited in some sense because there isn't a lot going on in Louisiana, in fact the nearest legitimate agencies will be in Florida so travel will be necessary when your potential career gets to that point. Until then. you need to make sure you have your parents full support, get yourself into school productions, local theatre productions, acting, singing %26amp; dance classes... everything that you can, get into it. Don't concentrate on fame, concentrate on work ethic including school which should remain your main focus. School cannot fall by the wayside or you will never attain your goal. The kids you see on tv and in movies are SMART. You need your education in order to have a career in this business. Once you build a resume and get several roles under your belt, look for an agent. Mom will have to be willing to travel with you for auditions and that's a huge committment, but if you're an excellent student and she see's how dedicated you are to your potential career she may be willing to do that for you.

Check out Sag.org when you're ready. There's good info for young performers and you can search for an agent as well, but like i said the closest you will find to you is in Florida. You do NOT pay legitimate agents until they help get you a job, remember that!

Good luck! How do i become a successful teenage actress???
You can become a successful actress. You should definitely enroll in acting classes and start out with plays in your community's theater. but you may have to sacrifice a few things and may have to move over here in california [many actresses and actors have done just that] you have to give up a lot and have a real passion for it. But dont let others discourage you. You also have to get headshots and start filling up your resume and try getting as skilled with different sports, music and impressive things. It takes a lot but you can get lucky and become successful
same here! i live in alabama, and there is like no theater group in my county. i either have to go all the way to georgia, florida, or the county right beside me.
    Well, to be a ';famous actress'; is entirely different from being a ';successful actress'; or ';professional actress.';

To be a ';professional actress'; or ';successful actress'; you should start by just building up a resume. Try doing local plays/musicals with a theatre group. Then you could try and get local commercials, infomercials and print work.

From there you could branch out to local/regional work in the nearest major city.

Then, you could try guest spots on Tv shows, and subsequently BIGGER projects.

This all takes time, you have to work yourself up!

Also, know that to get successful bookings and auditions, you will want an agent. Look up resputable agents, or ask someone you know in the arts if they know of any good agencies, then send in your HEADSHOT, RESUME and COVER LETTER.

Don't even bother with online casting websites, they are usually scams.

Anyway, wait 4-6 weeks to hear back from the agencies. Then you could send postcards out.

Hopefully one will be interested and sign you/ask for an audition/meeting!

Also, remember that anything that requires you to pay before you get work is a scam.

An agent or whatever, gets paid when you get paid!

Typical agency fees can be from 5-15%.

    Good luck, and I hope you have a safe road to ';stardom.';
With me I attend a high school of the arts in my city. There im able to be a theatre major and dabble in the other arts. like some of the previous girls said you most have a passion for it. I live and breath acting it's one of the things im good at. You need to be willing to start at a small base and grow from it. Where i've started was with the local theatres around my town. Right now im doing commercials and ad's. Next month i am trying out as an extra in a small sitcom. To tell the truth im happy just doing theatre the aspect of fame isnt something im dieing to attain. You cant suspect to shoot up to fame immediately it takes a lot of work and a strong thrive to be an actress. But once you have shows and other things in your portfolio people will start to take you serious no matter where you live. Fame shouldnt be the goal doing what you love should be your goal. Hopes that helps.:)
you might wanna start with actually having talent. most teenagers just want to be actors/actresses for the fame.

if you have no talent, sorry hunny.
Don't become an actress for fame. The famous ones are in the 0.01%. Do it because you love it, if you're getting into it for fame you're setting yourself up for failure. Not trying to be mean but I am a working actor in NYC and that's just how it is.

Let her go to the ******* festival

She's 18 so unfortunately (VERY unfortunately in this case) you can't stop her if she can afford to go on her own... but if she can't afford it and she's trying to get YOU to send her on your dollar, DON'T DO IT!!!! The place is absolutely overrun with drugs and alcohol and sex- it's like Woodstock from the 60's, but every year! Yes, there are lots of great, normal people who do go there and there are a lot of amazing bands that play there, but an 18 year old- in MY opinion (as someone who has raised 3 daughters, now all in their 30's, and someone who has been rasing other people's kids a s a nanny for 38 years) does not have the resources to deal with the things she will encounter there. I would NEVER willingly allow or want my child to go to Bonnaroo. Good Luck!
yes, it would be safe to send your daughter to bonnaroo, she is old enough to start making her own decisions and just like everyone else said, if you brought her up right not to do drugs and alcohol, she will be able to make the right decision on her own, not only that the bonnaroo music festival has rules and regulations reguarding the use of drug and alcohol, they strictly prohibit it, from the site i posted in the source you can find these rules and regulations, plus they also state what you should bring and not bring, in addition what the schedule will be like so you will pretty much know everything your daughter will be doing, and again shes 18 the age where you get out on your own, trust in your parenting skills that they have affected her in the right way and that she will make the right decisions when she has to.
Bonnaroo is staffed well and 24 hour security.. Of course there a bad things if you look hard enough, as is the case with any music festival, if your daughter is in the least bit well grounded you should have little to worry about. Like the above person said, trust that you raised her right and that she would have discipline to enjoy herself in a non detrimental manner. The fact that she's going with peers could very well be an asset.
I think that you should let your daughter go. Bonnaro is safe and they have are very strict on their drug and alcohol policy. but if it does happen to get past the security, you should trust your daughters judgment and also trust that you raised her to make the right decision.
of course u should send her.

and chances are she will encounter drugs and alcohol but you have to trust yourself enough to know that you raised her right. you also have to trust her to not make dumb decisions that will her into unsafe situation.

trust her. you only live once
    I think it's very safe.

From what I hear they're very strict on things like drugs and alcohol getting in.

Plus, she would be with friends, which, of course, makes things safer, and should make you feel less nervous.
I've been to bonnaroo several times, and never seen any drugs, and only moderate alcohol. Out of music festivals, I'd say it's the safest.

  • How can i get rid of teenage spots ?

HI, i'm a 14 year old teenager and i have really bad teenage spots. I've tried Clearasil, some face wipes, ASDA wipes and now trying some Adidas face soap (liquid) but there no going a single bit. Is there anything i could do myself to get rid of them with hotwater or something if any advice works You're a f**king champ. How can i get rid of teenage spots ?
By teenage spots you mean little blotchy areas on your face? if that's so then i would suggest that you get a tan on your face and they'll just blend in. also if you wear liquid foundation. STOP!!! it clogs your pores and doesn't help anything!!

What is the difference between a teenage girl and a woman in terms of love?

Being a guy I want to know the answer. What is the difference between a teenage girl and a woman in terms of love?
I think the main difference is experience. A woman already have her personality complete and knows what she is looking for but the teens girls[not all] sometimes think they might be in love but is only an illusion. I think this is the only difference. What is the difference between a teenage girl and a woman in terms of love?
Teenagers don't have a clue about what it really takes to make a relationship work. Once you are out in the world and life beats the sh*t out of u a few times you grow up and your priorites change. Once you grow up and u begin to understand what it really takes to make it work. Women understand the responsibility you have to your man, a teenager will be lookin for what else is out there to explore, especially once they turn 21...it gets pretty wild out in da club....you don't want to be tied down if you really want to have some fun!
i would say experience. I was 16 when i first thought i was in love, but looking back i can say that it wasn't love just the closest i had felt. Lucky for me love is even better :-)
A woman has been there and done that and learned from it.

Ugg boots or versions of them are in. Get straight leg jeans and tuck them into the boots. anything really looks good jsut dont wear a dress or skirt with em.What are some popular boots for teenage girls?
I love love love ugg boots ecspecailly the classic short ones. the are so comfy warm and cute! get a pair of those and for pants with them, dark skinny jeans tucked inside:)
Well ugg boots are still somewhat in season I don't really like them, but when worn the right way there pretty cute. Jeans with a cute T-Shirt and hoodie is perfect. Glam is really in this season so boots with Fur, heels or a little sparkle would fit the season great! You can also check websites like Shiekh.com for more ideas. Happy Shopping!!
Ugg boots are always in style honey!!! And especially if you're 13. Straight legged jeans(darkwash) tucked in or out and (depending on the color of you uggs, may I suggest a nice tan color?)match a cool sweater and a nice hair accesory! You'll look SOOO adorable!!!
A trendy girl may like Sugar brand or Roxy. A more casual girl Ugg or Timberland.Try Zappos online
I think Uggs are really cute!

    I have:

    Classic Tall Boots

    Moccasins

    Coquette Slippers

I love them all, and they pretty much go with anything BESIDES shorts.
Definately Uggs for you, they go great with EVERYTHING from just a t-shirt to something way cute and trendy, I would invest in Uggs because they last a long time and will stand the test of time. I would suggest going with a medium height and maybe chocolate color, its way hot for this season. Wear with skinny jeans of course, you dont want bunching around the tops of yourr boots, and no one whats chunky ankles.
faux fur/ suede boots r totally in this season. cute, comfortable, and trendy.
Uggs are pretty cute. but the cute boots for teen girls this winter are the long knee-length winterish furry boots in gray, tan or brown. cute clothes would be jeans and a cute sweater, hoodie, or a denim mini with leggins or leg warmers.

Should I be worried about my teenage son being preoccupied with spanking ?

He likes reading about it on the Internet and in books. Also, he likes to make spanking implements such as wooden paddles and leather straps. Should I talk to him about this?Should I be worried about my teenage son being preoccupied with spanking ?
I'm surprised at these answers. It's an unusual thing for a teenager to be preoccupied with. An interest is one thing... it's an interesting, controversial subject. Even interest from a teenager is surprising. It could be associated with sex or abuse. Yes I'd follow-up if it were my child.Should I be worried about my teenage son being preoccupied with spanking ?
It seems that your son has an inclination toward spanking. Many people do. I don't think there is anything you can do about it. You may talk to him about it (if he is accessible on this rather intimate topic) - tell him that this is nothing ';serious'; or to be concerned about, but that he should take care to limit any spanking activities to consenting adults.
I'd probably just let that one go... Sounds like your son might have a bit of a fetish interest, but I know if it were my son, I certainly wouldn't want to delve into that subject with him.
Do you or your husband have a history of spanking him? He may be developing a fetish. That can happen from childhood spankings.
Yeah I would have his father address the issue. If father is not available, then talk to him about it.
I wouldnt worry its probably just a fase he is going through, but he wouldnt want his mom to get too involved!
I'd find out why it interests him so much for sure. Then go from there.
yea sherry... its time to have a talk with your son concerning this subject... before he gets into group activity
I have to ask: did you ever spank him to punish him for masturbating?
I could be happening at school. My school 'paddled' gr 9 guys.

What are good birthday presents for teenage boyfriends?

My boyfriend's birthday is coming up in a little while and I'm really stumped on what I should get him. He never out right says he really wants something and I want to get him something special but not cheesy or embarrassing. He is turning 15, he likes rock 'n' roll(or anything really, music is basically his life), playing video games, he loves to read, and he's kinda out doors-y. We've been dating over a year now and I want his birthday to be memorable. Please if you have any ideas I would be really appreciative. What are good birthday presents for teenage boyfriends?
Get him a subscription to Rolling Stones Magazine. Not sure what your budget is but the Amazon Kindle would be a memorable gift if he is an avid reader. It is around $300 but maybe you could split the cost with someone in his family?
